Ingredients
- 500 g Northern Ireland Farm Quality Assured minced beef
- 1 Onion
- 1 Clove garlic
- 100 g Smoked streaky bacon
- 1 x 15 ml (1 tbsp) Oil
- 1 x Reduced salt beef stock cube
- 100 ml Water
- 2 x 5 ml (2 tsp) Dried oregano or mixed herbs
- 400 g can chopped tomatoes
- 1 x 15 ml (1 tbsp) Tomato puree
- Black pepper
- 400 g Quick cook spaghetti

Method
- Peel and chop the onion. Peel and crush the garlic.
- On a separate chopping board, slice the streaky bacon. Remember to thoroughly wash your hands after handling raw meat.
- Heat the oil in a frying pan and cook the onion, garlic and bacon for 3 minutes.
- Add the mince and cook for 5 minutes until browned.
- Dissolve the stock cube in 100ml of boiling water.
- Stir in the stock, herbs, canned tomatoes and tomato puree and season with black pepper. Cook for 15-20 minutes stirring occasionally.
- While the mince is cooking, cook the spaghetti in boiling water. Drain once cooked.
- Serve the mince on top of the spaghetti with a green salad.
