Ingredients

500g of Northern Ireland Farm Quality Assured lean steak mince

1 large garlic clove

1 teaspoon low salt soy sauce

1 egg

Pepper

 

Ingredients for the sauce

3 tablespoons low fat mayonnaise

2 tablespoons low salt soy sauce

1 tablespoon honey

¼ teaspoon cayenne pepper

 

To serve

1 small tin pineapple rings

1 red onion

4 slices cheddar cheese

2 radishes

4 burger buns

Salad leaves

Equipment

1 large mixing bowl, 1 small mixing bowl, 1 fork, 1 red chopping board, 1 green chopping board, 1 knife, 1 garlic crusher, 1 teaspoon, 1 tablespoon, 1 vegetable knife, 1 tin opener, 1 fish slice, 4 serving dishes.

 

Method

  1. Peel and crush the garlic.
  2. Peel and finely slice the onion.
  3. Trim and thinly slice the radishes.
  4. Open and drain the pineapple rings.
  5. Crack egg into large bowl. WASH HANDS. Whisk lightly with a fork.
  6. Add the mince, garlic, soy sauce and pepper and mix well.
  7. Turn out onto red chopping board and form into 4 equal sized burgers. WASH HANDS.
  8. Heat the grill to a medium heat.
  9. Meanwhile prepare the sauce – stir the mayonnaise, soy sauce, honey and cayenne together in a small mixing bowl and spread on burger bun.
  10. Grill the burgers under a medium heat for 4 to 5 minutes on both sides
  11. Just before the burgers are ready, place a slice of cheese on top and allow it to melt.
  12. Remove burger from the grill, place on the burger bun.
  13. Top with the pineapple, sliced radishes and onion.
  14. Serve with salad leaves.
