In April and May 2018 LMC completed 3 beef and lamb workshops in the following post primary schools
The aim of these workshops was to support local food and nutrition teachers in preparing and cooking beef and lamb in the classroom. The workshops also educated the teachers on the nutritional benefits of cooking NIFQA beef and lamb.
Three beef and lamb dishes were cooked during the day (Irish beef stew, beef or lamb burgers and lamb rogan josh). Throughout each recipe information such as food safety and hygiene, different cuts of meat and knife skills were demonstrated. The teachers were given food presentation tips and their final dishes showed great flair.
The workshops proved to be effective and the feedback received was exceptional! Thanks to all the schools and teachers involved.
It is our aim to provide these workshops again this year so keep an eye out for details. Take a look at some of the images and feedback we received.
