Why is Food 4 Life Relevant
Food 4 Life is an interactive, internet-based resource designed to support teaching of nutrition and food safety elements of the Northern Ireland Home Economics Curriculum for Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4.
Food4Life has been developed by the Livestock and Meat Commission (LMC) for Northern Ireland who are committed to serving the red meat industry in Northern Ireland. We have been involved in providing educational support to schools in Northern Ireland through our cookery demonstrations and advocate the nutritional benefits of red meat as part of a healthy diet.
We have worked closely with CCEA to ensure that the content on our website is closely linked to the Home Economics Curriculum. This website should be viewed as a means of reinforcing previous classroom activities and learning. It is anticipated that these activities will form an interesting and challenging means of extending pupils' understanding, and facilitating application of their knowledge.
This website uses a range of resources including video, interactive games, downloadable documents, recipes which we hope you will find useful.
