    • 500 g Northern Ireland Farm Quality Assured minced beef
    • 1 Onion
    • 1 Clove garlic
    • 100 g Smoked streaky bacon
    • 1 x 15 ml (1 tbsp) Oil
    • 1 x Reduced salt beef stock cube
    • 100 ml Water
    • 2 x 5 ml (2 tsp) Dried oregano or mixed herbs
    • 400 g can chopped tomatoes
    • 1 x 15 ml (1 tbsp) Tomato puree
    • Black pepper
    • 400 g Quick cook spaghetti

    Method
    • Peel and chop the onion. Peel and crush the garlic.
    • On a separate chopping board, slice the streaky bacon.  Remember to thoroughly wash your hands after handling raw meat.
    • Heat the oil in a frying pan and cook the onion, garlic and bacon for 3 minutes.
    • Add the mince and cook for 5 minutes until browned.
    • Dissolve the stock cube in 100ml of boiling water.
    • Stir in the stock, herbs, canned tomatoes and tomato puree and season with black pepper. Cook for 15-20 minutes stirring occasionally.
    • While the mince is cooking, cook the spaghetti in boiling water.  Drain once cooked.
    • Serve the mince on top of the spaghetti with a green salad.
